Diocese of Wagga Wagga
The Diocese of Wagga Wagga is located in the Riverina and located on the lands of the Wiradjuri Nation and the Yorta Yorta People. The Diocese has 27 primary and 5 secondary colleges address the expectations of an ever-changing world in their commitment to educating the whole child.
Wiradjuri
The Wiradjuri are the largest Aboriginal group in New South Wales. They occupy a large area in central New South Wales, from the Blue Mountains in the east, to Hay in the west, north to Nyngan and south to Albury. The Wiradjuri lands are described as "the land of the three rivers,
the Macquarie, the Lachlan and the Murrumbidgee . The Murray River forms the Wiradjuri's southern boundary.
Yorta Yorta
The Yorta Yorta lands covered the junction of the Goulburn and Murray Rivers. The small town of Tocumwal which is home to our Scared Heart Primary School, boarders our diocese with the Wilcania/Forbes diocese and is situated on the lands of the Yorta Yorta people.
